Current SU and SUNY-ESF students can sign up for a learning community or interest housing using the on-line form. Current students are required to answer a few short essay questions, and all applications are screened by learning community faculty and staff. Please have your name, your student ID#, SU/ESF email address, your intended roommates' names, and your learning community choice ready to begin the process. Each student can only apply for one learning community choice.
Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by learning community faculty and staff. All applicants will receive an e-mail indicating their approval status. If your application is approved, you then need to go to the Housing Office (204 Steele Hall) to complete your Housing Reservation Process (HRP) form indicating your Learning Community preference by the deadline of Wednesday, March 18, 2009 by 5 p.m. All learning community spaces are allocated during the Learning Community Phase of the Housing Reservation Process.
If you are not approved, you should participate in the regular Housing Reservation Process beginning with Phase 1.
If you have questions about your approval status, you can contact the Office of Learning Communities via email at lcs@syr.edu or by phone at 443-2079.
IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HOUSING RESERVATION PROCESS, YOU MUST PAY THE ADVANCE HOUSING PAYMENT TO THE HOUSING OFFICE BY FEB 27, 2009. If you have any questions about this, please contact the Housing Office at 315-443-2721 or email housing@syr.edu.
